Love Actually

I was watching the movie 27 dresses because I could’nt go to sleep and I started to think about alot of stuff… the movie deals with the idea that imperfections are at times perfect and then I started to think about love in general. It can raise you up or it can bring you down and thats when I realized that my ex was right and that is perhaps why I stuck with him for so long. I was in love and still do love him. We went through some of the toughest times ever and at the end of the day whether in tears or angry, I would always end up in his arms filled with forgiveness… He did what he did because he was in love with me and was so scared of losing me that he did all the wrong things, like not wanting me to hang out with my friends because he was scared… It took me so long to get the courage to leave him and I still think it was the right thing but he will still be my endless love. What I realized with our whirlwind relationship, I realized that all the others I had fallen in love with weren’t true love but infatuations. I saw them when they were at their best therefore called them perfect relationships but love is about everything, the good, the bad, the everything!

Even though we went through some tough times, I remember more the good things we did or had…

He used to cook me breakfast in bed when I stayed at his house and dinner and would make the best toasted cheese sandwiches.

He sometimes would pick my nose if there was a booger sticking out of my nose or pull out a stray hair.

When my  brother was involved in a car crash, he woke up in the middle of the night and went to take him to the hospital which I thought was amazing.

The random deliverance of flowers usually to say sorry.

The randon calls just to say I love you.

The kisses he would give me while I was asleep to wake me up.

It’s funny he was to busy thinking that all I would remember of him was the negative but all that kept me there other than my love for him were the good times we had.

Okay to go back to the movie, I started to think about other kinds of movies and songs that best describe what I consider true love.

Okay show wise, the episode from Medium Season 3 episode 12 “The one behind the wheel”… the use of the song which was also in “27 dresses” was the song by Corinne Bailey Rai called “Like a star” which expresses the idea well.

Also Damien Rice song “Blowers Daughter” describes the feeling when you are at that you can’t take your eyes off the one you are in love with even if they dont feel the same way.

The movie Lantana has a more realistic touch and showed the power of truth in a relationship.

Love Actually and Suddenly 13 were more about the fun in a relationship however Love Actually also had the idea of how much it can hurt not having the one you love or having them break your heart or seeing someone else in love with your soulmate and knowing you could love them more but can’t do anything about it. While “Suddenly 13″ had the funner elements of a relationship.

“Wicker Park” had one important line which I thought was good was  “So you are saying that I am not the one that could break your heart?”

There are plenty of other movies and songs that are amazing and describe the different feelings. To end wrap this up, I will have to say one of the greatest songs of love is “Endless Love” sang by Luther Vandross and Mariah Carey. And the quote to end it all is from the Kelly Clarkson song “The trouble with love is, it can tear you up inside, make your heart beleive a lie”.
